| The Market command button provides
access to charts of the major market indices and to market indicators. The Dow Jones
Industrials Actual, S&P 500, AMEX, NASDAQ, NYSE Composite, and NYSE To access the list of indices and indicators, click on the "Market" button, or press the F3 function key. To obtain a chart, select a market index or indicator, highlight the item and press "Enter" or click on the item with the mouse cursor. When viewing the charts of the Dow Jones Industrials, Dow Jones Utility, Dow Jones Transportation, S&P 500 or NASDAQ 100, an additional button will appear to the left of Tools (F7). When this option is selected, it will provide a list of the index components along with their index % weightings. To exit from the Market selection feature and return to Graph screen, type a stock symbol and press "Enter". |

Composite Index - A market value-weighted index comprised of common stocks,
American depository receipts and warrants traded on the AMEX. Dow Jones Industrials - A price-weighted average of 30 blue chip stocks prepared by Dow Jones & Company. The closing value for the Dow Jones Industrials is the same as for the Dow Jones Industrials Actual. However, the high and low values for the Dow Jones Industrials assume all the stocks hit their highs at the same time (high value) and all the stocks hit their lows at the same time (low value). The high and low values for the Dow Jones Industrials are considered theoretical values. Dow Jones Industrials Actual - A price-weighted average of 30 blue chip stocks prepared by Dow Jones & Company. The high/low/close is calculated each hour and takes into account each stocks different price movements, up or down. The closing value for the Dow Jones Industrials Actual is the same as for the Dow Jones Industrials. Dow Jones Transportation - A price-weighted average of 20 railroad, airline and trucking stocks. Dow Jones Utility - A price-weighted average of 15 geographically representative gas and electric utility companies. Investor's Business Daily 6000 - A market value-weighted index of all domestic stocks traded on the NYSE, AMEX and NASDAQ. Investor's Business Daily Mutual Fund Index - An index of 23 diversified mutual funds. This is the identical index that appears in the Investor's Business Daily. NASDAQ 100 - The Nasdaq-100 Index represents the largest and most active non-financial domestic and international issues listed on The NASDAQ Stock MarketŪ based on market capitalization. NASDAQ Composite - A market value-weighted index representing all domestic stocks, except those traded on exchanges and those having only one market-maker. Note: Track Price volume is expressed in tenths; i.e. Track Price volume of 176,129,000 represents actual volume of 1,761,290,000. NYSE Composite Index - A market value-weighted index of all stocks traded on the New York Stock Exchange. NYSE Financial - A major market index comprised of all finance common stocks traded on the NYSE. The index is designed to measure the changes in the aggregate value of the stocks. S & P 500 Index - A market value-weighted index of 500 stocks comprised mostly of NYSE stocks with some over-the-counter and AMEX stocks. Russell 2000 Index - A capitalization-weighted market index comprised of the smallest 2,000 companies in the Russell 3000 Index. This index is widely regarded in the industry as the premier measure of small cap stocks. Volume displayed is based on total volume for all components of the Index. Volume displayed in the track price box is rounded to the nearest tenth. AMEX Market Indicators - Summarizes the American Stock Exchange's performance by displaying four separate graphs of the ASE Market Value Index, Short-Term Overbought-Oversold Oscillator (which is the 10-day moving average of advances minus declines), 10-Day Moving Average Up Volume & Down Volume, and 10-Day Moving Average New Highs & New Lows. Other information provided includes the number of stocks that advanced, declined and remained unchanged, the corresponding volume figures, and the number of stocks making new highs and new lows for the previous trading day on the ASE. NASDAQ Market Indicators - Summarizes the NASDAQ's performance by displaying four separate graphs of the NASDAQ Composite, Short-Term Overbought-Oversold Oscillator (which is the 10-day moving average of advances minus declines), 10-Day Moving Average Up Volume & Down Volume, and 10-Day Moving Average New Highs & New Lows. NYSE Daily Mkt Avg - Displays two separate graphs of the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S & P 500 Index. A third graph provides the NYSE Advance-Decline Line, which tracks the number of stocks moving up compared with those moving down. |
