Comparison Chart

This feature provides the ability to compare the price performance of stocks and indices, over a user—defined period, ranging from two-weeks to three-years. Comparisons are provided by setting the initial value of all items to 100 and using their price percentage change to create each performance line. The chart scale indicates price percentage change, where a value above 100 indicates a price percentage gain and a value below 100 indicates a price decrease from the base point.

To open a Comparison Chart, click the "Display" command button and select "Comparison View" from the menu. When the Comparison Chart opens, it will include the one-year performance of the chart displayed on the Stock Graphs.

To add items to this performance chart, double click the symbol in the "Enter Symbol" field, type in a new symbol, and click the "ADD" button or the "Graph" command button.

The Select Index list provides a complete list of all indices accessible on this chart. To add an index, click the drop-down button to the right of the "Select Index" field, select an item from the menu, and click the "ADD" or "Graph" button.

To remove an item from the chart, begin by clicking the drop-down button next to the "Symbol List" to view a list of all charted items. Select the desired item and click the "DEL" (delete) button.

To change the beginning and/or end date for the price performance comparison, enter a new date and click the "Graph" command button. The dates may be modified in two ways. One is to double click the "Start Date" or "End Date" date field and manually type a date in the mm/dd/yyyy format. Another method is to click the calendar icon next to the "Start Date" or "End Date" field, to access the drop-down calendar. With the drop-down calendar opened, the year may be changed by clicking the reverse or forward chevron (« or ») located in the upper left and right corners. To modify the month, click the drop-down button to the right of the month field and select the desired month from the list. Select the specific date by clicking the date on the calendar.

NOTE: The Calendar is accessible only when using Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Multiple Chart Windows

To view more than one chart at a time, click the "Display" command button and select "New Window."

NOTE: We do not restrict the number of windows opened in this manner.

Additional chart window(s) will function independent of the first Stock Graphs window. This includes the ability to modify the window size, location, chart display options, and access to all resources, including the Reports and Stock Lists.

NOTE: A thin horizontal green bar appearing at the top of the chart is a confirmation of an eSignal Real-Time Stock Graphs entitlement. Additional chart(s) opened using the New Window option from the Display menu will not have this green bar as these charts will only display 20-minute delayed price and volume information.
