Program Features: Stock Lists

Stocklist Button

The Stock Lists is an organizational tool to create, store and contain an unlimited number of stocks. Like the Reports feature, the Stock Lists provides the ability to quickly view stocks via the Spacebar key.

All Stock Lists may be accessed, updated, or modified at any time from any computer meeting our minimum requirements.

The Stock Lists features consist of two elements:

  1. Stock Lists Menu
  2. Stock Lists Window

STOCK LISTS MENU

The Stock Lists Menu appears when the "Stock Lists" command button is clicked. With it, the following tasks may be performed:

   Stocklist Window

Create New Stock Lists

When creating a name for a new Stock List, consider the following facts:

  1. The name may contain up to 50 characters;
  2. All characters are accepted (symbols, numbers and letters);

Display List Names

It is possible to create and store an unlimited number of Stock Lists. List Names are displayed in a symbol-numeric-alpha order.

When additional lists are created, the new list name will appear as the last item in the Menu display field. When the Stock Graphs program is closed and reopened, all Stock List names will be resorted.

Open Existing Lists

To access an existing Stock List, locate the desired list, click it once to highlight it and then press the Open button. A list may also be opened by clicking twice on its name.

Import Lists of Stocks

By offering the ability to import text files, one is able to readily access lists created in other applications. The following tools are all capable of generating text files that can be imported as stock lists:

  • Daily Graphs Custom Screen Wizard
  • Investors.com My Stock Lists
  • Investors.com Screen of the Day
  • Investors.com IBD 100
  • Any application able to save files in a text format

This feature is also valuable to those who back up their Stock Lists, or otherwise find it useful to temporarily remove lists from the Menu.

To import a file, please adhere to the following:

  1. Symbols match those in the O'Neil Database®;
  2. Symbols are of stocks only—index symbols are not accepted;
  3. Symbols are arranged in a single vertical column;
  4. There are no characters or spaces above or before the symbols;
  5. Accepted file extensions include: ".txt", ".prn", ".rep", or ".lst";
  6. File list is not currently open in another application.
