Daily Graphs Online® Stock Graphs

The Stock Graphs service provides detailed fundamental and technical information in an easy to use format. From the command buttons located at top of the chart, it is easy to access a broad assortment of graphs, data and market information. Additional features provide tools to find new investment ideas, manage and maintain lists of stocks, and customize charts to best suit your needs.

GRAPHS

Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Intraday graphs present trading history over a variety of time intervals, allowing one to view stocks with short to long-term perspectives. This assortment of graphs makes it possible to analyze stocks with a long-term perspective as well as to time specific buy/sell points.

The Daily graph is commonly used when first reviewing a stock’s performance. From this graph, it is possible to obtain detailed trading price and volume history over a 12-month period. In addition, data critical for an initial evaluation of a stock is strategically placed in various locations. Tools are provided to modify the presentation on the graphs to suit individual needs.

The Weekly graph is key to obtaining an in-depth technical and fundamental analysis of a stock. Its three-year graph makes it possible to identify the presence of long-term trading patterns or areas of support/resistance. The extensive collection of data presented along side the graph meets the needs of even the most demanding investor.

For a truly long-term perspective, access the Monthly graph. From this graph, it is possible to view nearly ten years of price and volume history. Spacing between the price and volume bars has been increased to enhance the detail. As with all graphs, the Track-Price tool (right-mouse button) will display the price high/low/last/change and volume information for each bar.

The Intraday graph provides the opportunity to select graphs with time intervals ranging from one-minute to 60-minutes. This variety of intervals help to identify specific support/resistance points and corresponding volume levels that occur during the day or over a period of weeks.

MARKETS

It is a well-known fact that three out of four stocks follow the direction of the overall market. It is important to understand current market conditions to ensure proper timing of your investment decisions. From the Market menu, the Stock Graphs service provides an assortment of index graphs, component reports and market indicators to help you better understand market conditions.

The Market menu provides access to a variety of indices representing a wide spectrum of the market. This includes indices covering small, medium, and large capitalization stocks, as well as a number specialized indices. As with the graphs for stocks, the indices may be viewed with a daily, weekly, or intraday time interval.

To determine what stocks are moving the market, access any of our seven index component reports. These reports will provide a list of all stocks in an index along with an assortment of price, volume and SmartSelect® data. Simply click the price change or volume percentage change header to sort the stocks and take note of the stocks at the top of the list.

Market summary details are available from the Market Indicators pages. Information is gathered from the NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX exchanges. Comparative charts are presented on the Daily Market Average pages.

REPORTS

There are few better places to start a search for new stock ideas than with one of the 26 Stock Graphs Reports. Each report is a list of stocks that is created using varying performance criteria. With this diversity, members are able to find reports with screening criteria that best meets their individual investment styles, in a range of market environments. The Reports also provide essential price/volume and SmartSelect® data items for every stock on the list. This gives the member the ability to use the data in the report to narrow the list of stocks to those of greatest interest.

To view the graph of a stock in a Report, simply double click the stock listing in the Report window. To view one graph after another, press the Spacebar on your keyboard multiple times. Each time the bar is pressed, the chart for the next stock in the list will appear. You can repeatedly press the Spacebar to scroll through a Report in a matter of minutes.

The order of the data in the Report window is determined using our report criteria. However, it may be resorted by clicking the description header of any data item. Click the header once to sort data on an ascending basis, click it a second time to sort on a descending basis. For more extensive sorting or filtering of the data, use the export button to save the data as a file or export the data to Excel.

Excel is a program that specializes in handling data. With Excel, it is possible to perform extensive sorting of the report data. In addition, its AutoFilter tool is a great resource for removing stocks that do not meet your specific performance criteria. With this tool, you can filter data using one or all data items. When research time is short, this approach may help you to quickly find stocks of greatest interest. Once a list is narrowed, it can then be easily imported back into the Stock Graphs via the Stock Lists to quickly view charts or to store the list for later access.

STOCK LISTS

The Stock Lists tool’s primary function is to create, store, and organize stocks. With this tool, it is possible to create an unlimited number of lists, each containing an unlimited number of stocks. Stocks in a list may be added individually or imported from the Reports or the Daily Graphs Online Custom Screen Wizard.

Like the Report window, the Stock Lists window provides a great deal of functionality. It is possible to view stocks by clicking an item in the list, using the Spacebar to view stocks one after the other, clicking the description headers to change the sorting order, or exporting the list as a file. Each Stock List provides an update button, allowing the window to remain open during market hours while accessing the latest information (provided on a 20-minute delayed basis).

TOOLS

The Stock Graphs provides an assortment of tools. This includes a Name Search feature to look up stocks where you know only part of the name, a Recent Symbols List to access the symbols of up to 20 graphs recently viewed, as well as an assortment of options for viewing the Daily, Weekly, and Intraday charts. There are also options for setting Custom Moving Averages as well as a Line Pen tool that allows you to draw trend lines on a chart.

HELP

The Help menu provides access to a broad collection of resources that new and experienced members alike find useful.

Since many of our members find the Stock Graphs easy to use, many start using the service without any preparation or instruction. However, given the wealth of information provided on the Daily and Weekly graphs, it is common for questions to arise regarding the identification and definition of items. To quickly address such questions, we have created the Image Maps. This feature provides a sample image of a daily and weekly chart. Each sample is an interactive window that produces a description of any item clicked with the mouse.

The Help menu also features a glossary as well as descriptions of the various Reports.

For an in-depth overview of the Stock Graphs resources, we strongly suggest a review of the Program Features. It provides a detailed description of all Stock Graphs features and how to use them. This resource should be referenced numerous times to fully utilize the tools and features of the Stock Graphs service.
