Minimum Requirements & Security Settings

Our services provide a wide range of data and features, all accessible from the convenience of an Internet browser.

To access our service, the following requirements must be met:

Active Subscription

A current subscription is required to access any of our services. A Complete Equity Research Package subscription will provide access to the Stock Graphs, Custom Screen Wizard, and Industry Groups. The Fund Center and Option Guide each require separate subscriptions. To subscribe to any of our services, click here.

Windows Operating System

All of our services, with the exception of the Custom Screen Wizard, include access to charting software. The charting software is functional only with 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows operating systems, to include the following:

  • Windows 95
  • Windows 98
  • Window NT 4.0
  • Windows 2000
  • Windows XP (all versions)
  • Windows Vista (all versions)

Charts are accessible from a Macintosh operating system when utilizing a Windows emulation program such as Virtual PC. It is not possible to view our charts on Linux, Windows Pocket PC (CE), and Palm.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 or greater is required to access the charts. To update the browser and operating system files, we recommend using the Windows Update site.

Netscape or Mozilla Firefox

Netscape browser versions 6.1 - 7.1, 8.x, or Mozilla Firefox version 1.0 - 2.x, may be used to access our charts when the Asgard ActiveX plug-in is installed (free download available). Access to the Asgard plug-in installation page will automatically appear when accessing the charts with a Netscape or Firefox browser. Note: the Asgard plug-in does not work with Firefox version 3 browser. Click here for details on the automated installation process.

To install Netscape version 6.1 - 7.1 or 8.x, visit http://browser.netscape.com/ns8/download/archive.jsp.

Note: Our charts do not work with Netscape version 4.x or 7.2. The ActiveX plug-in for Netscape available from our web site is configured to work with Netscape version 6.1 - 7.1.

Note: The Mozilla Firefox browser uses some of the same coding as the Netscape browser and as such, it may be possible to access our charts with this browser. For more information, write to us at email.

Appropriate Privacy and Security Settings

Privacy and security options are often provided in browser, anti-virus, firewall, pop-up ad blockers, and other software. To access our services, it may be necessary to modify the settings to allow the following tasks:

  • Accept cookies
  • Allow pop-up windows
  • Allow JavaScript
  • Allow ActiveX controls download/install/run

Note: If you have an Internet Security software tool loaded on your PC (such as Norton Internet Security 2000 or ZoneAlarm Pro), you may need to disable this tool or modify the tool settings in order to download this control and view the charts. This includes providing access to the Internet and to allow pop-up windows to open.

Accept Cookies:

To access the services, it is necessary to create a log in session. This is accomplished when you log in and your computer accepts our cookie. For assistance in modifying your browser settings to accept a cookie, click here.

Allow pop-up windows:

To view charts, Custom Screen Wizard, and other features of the services, it is necessary for a pop-up window to open. If your computer utilizes pop-up block software, its settings will need to be modified or disabled before accessing the services.
